The most confusing Smurf Figurines

When I started collecting Smurfs a long time ago, there were certain figurines that confused me either because they look very much alike, but are different, or because of the confusing names of the figurines.
Since many new collectors have asked for some advice in this matter, I have decided to dedicate this page to "Confusing Smurf Figurines".

1. ANGRY and GROUCHY

Angry is No. 2.0007, and he is an all black figurine. He comes in different moulds, glossy or matte black colour, with white or red teeth. He actually changed colour because of an insect bite in the cartoon.
Grouchy is No. 2.0157, and is a blue and white smurf, with an angry expression on his face and both hands in a fist. His favourite line is: "I hate......".

2. Prisoner, Chaingang, and Smurf in Cage

Prisoner is No. 2.0010, and is wearing a white hat with black stripes, and white pants with black stripes. He is a regular figurine.
Chaingang is a Supersmurf, No. 4.0213, lifting up a pickaxe and with a ball and chain on his ankel. He is wearing yellow clogs.
The Smurf in Cage is also a Supersmurf, No. 4.0212, and is a blue and white Smurf holding on to the bars of the cage he is locked into.

3. Laughing and Jolly

Laughing, No. 2.0011, is blue and white, stretching one arm pointing to the left and holding the other hand in front of his mouth laughing.
Jolly, No. 2.0079, is also a blue and white figurine, laughing and holding his belly.

4. Earache and Naughty

Those two cause the most confusion. Earache is No. 2.0015. His eyebrows make him look upset, and he is sticking his fingers into the ears. The translation Earache isn't quite correct, since his German name means "I don't want to hear anymore."
Naughty is No. 2.0077. He is actually sticking his tongue out and he is sticking his thumbs into his ears.

5. Handy Smurfs

There are three Handy Smurfs. No. 2.0012 is just holding a wrench and the translation from German into English should be Mechanic. He is called Handy many times, or Handy Mechanic.
No. 2.0171 is called Handy, even though properly translated the name should be "Skilled Tradesman". He has a pen behind his left ear, a hammer in one hand and a toolbox and other tools under his arm.
No. 2.0187 is Handy Plumber, holding a pipewrench in one hand a brown toolbox in the other.

6. Painter and Artist

Painter is No. 2.0089. He is holding a palette AND two brushes in one hand and a single brush in the other.
Artist is No. 2.0045. He is holding one brush in one hand and only the palette in the other.

7. Gift and Present

Gift is No. 2.0040. He is holding flowers in one hand and a yellow gift with red ribbon in the other.
Present is No. 2.0086, his proper name would be Surprise Smurf, if properly translated. He would be like Jokey Smurf in the cartoon. He is carrying a white gift with red ribbon with both hands.

8. Sledgehammer and Mallet

Sledgehammer is No. 2.0096. He is holding a wooden mallet behind his back as if planning to sneak up on someone to knock him out.
Mallet is No. 2.0039 is holding a wooden mallet beside him with both hands as if going to work with it.

9. Smurfs Farming and Gardening

Farmer, No. 2.0028, is a figurine wearing a green apron, and both hands are beside his body, as if he is carrying a bucket in each hand. He actually at some point came with two buckets. His feet are flat!
The similar figurine is also coming with a wheelbarrel as a supersmurf, No. 4.0206. Only the feet are different.
Another Farmer is No. 2.0145, carrying a bundle of wheats and a cutter.
And there is Haymaker, No. 2.0138, raking and wearing a strawhat.

10. Cooking Smurfs

There is Chef, No. 2.0042. He is tasting something using a brown spoon and is wearing a chef's hat and suit with brown buttons.
Cook is No. 2.0073. He is wearing a chef's hat also. He is holding a spoon in one hand and a pan in the other.
And there is Greedy, No. 2.0165, wearing a chef's hat, sitting on a stool tasting some smurfy food with a spoon and licking his lips.

Those are the confusing smurfs that I can think of at the moment, or that smurfy friends have asked about in the past. If you have any other smurfy confusions, don't hesitate to ask and I will post it on this page. There are already more updates in the works!
